Sugarcane is processed to obtain molasses, from which ethylene can be extracted in addition to sugar. This ethylene is then used to produce materials such as bio-polyethylene. This method of producing polyethylene is significantly cleaner and more environmentally friendly than the conventional petroleum-based process. As a result, sugarcane-based bio-polyethylene is 100% recyclable and is used to manufacture our water bottle.
